In 1997, Dov Bar, his wife Ester, his sister Drora Swartz, accompanied Shmuel Englander, with his wife, on a visit to their ancestral town of Volchin. Their guide was Anna Gagarina, who grew up in Volchin and was 16 years old when the ghetto was established.
